Choose coffee tasting notes that match how you drink coffee

Pick coffee by the flavors you actually want

If you’ve ever liked one coffee and disliked the next one for reasons that were hard to name, tasting notes can help. Some people want chocolate and caramel. Others want berries, citrus, florals, or a cleaner cup. The problem is that a bag can sound appealing until it arrives and tastes nothing like what you had in mind.

When you can choose your preferred tasting notes, you stop guessing from the label alone. You can make your coffee profile reflect the flavors you already know you like, then use that as a guide for future boxes.

Save those notes once, then use them again

Signed-in members can go to /app, choose the tasting notes they enjoy, and save those choices to their coffee profile. That matters because taste preferences usually don’t change from week to week. If you already know you like bright, fruit-forward coffees, you shouldn’t have to remember that every time you return.

A simple way to use it is this: open /app after you sign in, look through the tasting notes, and pick the ones that match your preference. Save them, and they stay with your profile for the next time you come back.

What it looks like when it’s working

Say you drink coffee at home and like it best when it tastes more like cocoa and nuts than fruit. You can save those notes to your profile so they’re there the next time you sign in. When you return, you can check your choices before you pick your next box or revisit what you told Casko you like.

That makes the next decision easier. Instead of starting from zero, you’re working from a list of flavors you already picked. If a friend asks what kind of coffee you prefer, you can also look back at the notes you saved instead of trying to remember them.

What to watch out for

Tasting notes are a guide, not a promise that every cup will taste the same. Coffee changes with origin, roast, and brewing method, so a note on a bag or in a profile should help you narrow down what to try, not decide the whole experience for you.

It also helps to be honest about what you actually enjoy, not what sounds impressive. If you usually reach for smooth, sweet coffee, save that. If you like sharper, fruitier cups, save that instead. The value comes from matching your choices to your real habits.

Start with the coffees you already like

If you’re new to specialty coffee, the easiest place to begin is with one cup you remember enjoying. Think about what stood out first: was it chocolatey, nutty, floral, bright, or fruity? Use that as your first set of notes in /app.

After that, the profile can do some of the work for you. You sign in, check the notes you saved, and use them when you’re deciding what to order next. That’s enough to make the next box feel more like your coffee and less like a guess.
